Sensory Business Course

Build a Meaningful Sensory Play Business in Your Community

Creating sensory experiences for children is more than just messy play.
It’s about designing thoughtful environments where children can explore, imagine, and connect through their senses.

If you’ve ever felt called to create these experiences for children and families in your community, this course will guide you on how to turn that passion into a real business.

We truly believe there is room for more people in this space more creativity, more thoughtful play environments, and more communities benefiting from sensory experiences.

Learn From Our Journey

Sensory Atelier began with small sensory sessions for just seven children.

Over time, those sessions grew into sold-out experiences for over fifty children, with thoughtfully designed sensory environments including play dough bars, potion stations, easel work, and carefully curated invitations to play.

At the time, there were very few sensory businesses offering experiences like this in Perth, so the journey was built through creativity, experimentation, and learning along the way.

Inside this course, I’m sharing the real journey behind building this business the lessons, the systems, the mistakes, and the things that truly worked.

Whether you’re based in Australia or anywhere in the world, this step-by-step program will guide you from idea to launch with confidence, clarity, and your unique style.

Imagine Your Sensory Business

Imagine your business growing authentically within your community because you are offering something thoughtful and unique for children and families.

Imagine creating sensory environments where children mix potions, explore textures, paint at easels, and become completely immersed in play.

Imagine parents returning week after week because they trust and value the experiences you create.

That is how Sensory Atelier grew through meaningful experiences and strong community connections.

But the journey was not always perfect.

Like many small businesses, there were plenty of lessons along the way.

I made mistakes. I learned what worked and what didn’t. And often I wished someone had guided me through those early stages.

This course is here so you can build your business more intentionally, avoid some of the mistakes I made, and create something sustainable that doesn’t lead to burnout.

Why We Created This Course

Sensory Atelier is now entering a new chapter.

While we will continue to host our special seasonal events such as Easter, Christmas, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, we are transitioning our focus toward developing our holistic drop-off sensory program.

As we evolve into this next stage of the business, it felt like the right time to share everything we have learned along the way..

If you have ever attended one of my workshops, you already know that I believe in sharing knowledge openly.

And that is exactly what this course does.

I’m giving you the full blueprint the ideas, the systems, and the lessons so you can build a sensory business with confidence and intention.

NIKKIE ARACHCHIGE FAMLONGA

Founder

Hi, I’m Nikkie founder of Sensory Atelier.

My journey began with a simple passion for creating intentional, meaningful experiences for children. When my little girl was born, I wanted spaces that weren’t overstimulating with bright colours or plastic toys, but instead felt natural, calm, and connected to the outdoors. That idea is how Sensory Atelier was born.

Before I even built the business, I educated myself on sensory processing and child development. I wanted to understand children deeply so that everything I created would serve their needs not just the business. My approach has always been child-first, community-focused, and designed with intention.

I’m a teacher, a mother, and a business owner. I also run a nature playhouse in Sri Lanka called Natures Atelier, and this year marks my 16th year working alongside families and children, dedicating my life to early childhood education.

Over the years, that passion grew into a sensory business that has created beautiful, intentional play environments for hundreds of families. I’ve run workshops locally and internationally, built a strong community that comes back season after season, and designed experiences that are remembered and loved. I’ve made mistakes, learned lessons, Inspired and built systems that really work.

This course is my way of sharing that entire journey with you so you can create a sensory business confidently, without overwhelm or burnout. I’m not holding anything back. I want to give you everything I’ve learned so you can build a business that is purposeful, meaningful, and sustainable, with children and families at the heart of everything you do.
