This online workshop is for you.

We’ll show you how to create easy, engaging, and meaningful sensory play experiences using simple materials you already have. You’ll also learn why sensory play matters, exploring children’s sensory needs and how to design activities that truly support their development.

Join from the comfort of your own space, with your favourite drink in hand. Watch, learn, and ask questions or jump in and create alongside Nikkie during live demonstrations. By the end, you’ll feel confident, inspired, and ready to bring magical sensory play into your home or classroom.

Workshop Focus:

  • Understanding Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD): Learn how SPD impacts children’s learning and play, and how to support their sensory needs effectively.

  • Creating No-Cook Playdough: Discover how to make simple, safe playdough and set up an invitation to play—without simply giving it to a child. You’re welcome to make it live with Nikkie during the session!

  • Potion Tray Demonstration: See step-by-step how to set up an engaging, sensory-rich potion play experience that sparks curiosity and creativity.

  • Rice Tray Demonstration: Learn how to create a sensory rice tray—you can either make it live with Nikkie or simply watch the demonstration and set up your own rice tray at home.

  • Bonus: Oobleck Play Demonstration: Get inspired with an additional hands-on sensory and creative play activity to extend learning and fun.

All the materials and instructions needed for the playdough and rice tray activities will be emailed to you once you have secured your spot. This ensures you’ll have the recipes and resources ready before the workshop begins.

Hello and Welcome!

I’m Nikkie, the founder of Sensory Atelier and a Montessori and Early Childhood teacher with over a decade of experience in early learning. Over the years, I've become deeply passionate about Sensory Processing Disorder in children and have expanded my expertise to include special needs education to better support sensory development in little ones.

I started Sensory Atelier with just seven children, navigating the journey without any prior experience. At the time, there weren’t many businesses like mine, so I learned everything as I went. Incredibly, within just six months, we won the award for Best Eco-Friendly Kids' Business of the Year!

Why this workshop?

This is our Third year running workshops, and the most rewarding feedback I've received is how easy it is for everyone to understand my teaching. I work closely with Early Learning Centers and schools to support educators, teachers, and parents in creating hassle-free sensory play experiences. Whether you’re looking to enhance your lessons as an educator or even turn this into a side hustle business, this workshop will give you the tools to create joyful and stress-free sensory play activities.

Creativity is at the heart of everything I do. Over the years, I’ve learned to embrace my passion for it, especially when creating play experiences. I can't wait to show you how simple it can be to set up engaging activities without the overwhelm, even when browsing Pinterest. As I always say, learning should be fun for both children and adults and most importantly, enjoyable.

PRIVATE - WORKSHOP OFFERINGS FOR EDUCATORS AND PARENT GROUPS

    Option 1: Create Sensory Bases with the Instructor

    Duration: 2 hours

    Capacity: Up to 20 adults

    Participants will create sensory bases with the instructor, learning the correct consistency for each base. You can choose three different bases to make, and you'll take everything you create home. This option provides an in-depth, hands-on experience in making a variety of sensory bases.

    Option 2: Demonstrations Only

    This workshop is designed for adults and will accommodate up to 30 participants. It provides practical demonstrations and guidance on how to create sensory-based play experiences effectively and easily. Participants will leave with the knowledge and skills to create engaging sensory play activities that can be recreated at home or in educational settings.

    Option 3: Hands-On Potion Play Setup

    Duration: 2 hours

    Capacity: Up to 20 educators

    Participants will create hands-on potion play setups. This includes making two sensory bases and learning how to set up a potion tray. This workshop is specifically tailored for educators who want to incorporate sensory play into their teaching practices.
