Holistic Drop off Learning Program !

2 Years and above - 6 Years

Inspired by Wholebeing Education Australia & Aligned with the Western Australia Early Years Curriculum

Since 2022, Sensory Atelier has been offering nature-based, purposeful play experiences for children. Over the past three years, we have proudly completed over eight successful terms of play and learning.

As our community has grown, we felt inspired to evolve gently, deepening connection, introducing intentional teaching, and offering a more holistic learning experience for children and families.

The Holistic Explorers Program is designed for children aged 2.5 to 6 years, blending nature-based play with research-backed learning. It is aligned with the Western Australia Early Years Curriculum, while drawing inspiration from Wholebeing Education Australia. This ensures your little one’s learning, development, and wellbeing are supported in a meaningful, intentional way whether they are preparing for school, exploring homeschooling, or simply ready for a richer learning experience.

Is This Program Right for Your Child?

If your little one is ready for more than play more connection, intention, and growth this program may be the perfect fit.

It is also a beautiful support for homeschooling families, offering structured learning time while parents enjoy a little space for themselves 🤍

A young girl with curly hair, wearing a blue cap and a colorful floral dress, is painting a picture of a fish on a watercolor palette at a small outdoor art station. The setup includes a wooden box, a board for her artwork, and a wicker table with a flower arrangement, situated outdoors on a sunny day with a grassy field and residential buildings in the background.

How the Program Works

Session time: 9:30am – 11:30am

We understand that separation can feel big for both children and parents. The first day may feel a little emotional, and that is completely okay. Our educators meet each child with patience, warmth, and care, doing everything possible to ensure they feel safe, supported, and deeply welcomed.

To support a smooth and gentle transition, we offer a free Stay & Play session prior to the start of each term.
This session allows children and families to:

  • Explore the space together

  • Meet the educators

  • Connect with other families in our community

  • Build familiarity and confidence before drop-off begins

We find this gentle introduction helps children settle with greater ease and gives parents peace of mind, knowing their little one is entering a space where they already feel a sense of belonging

Meet Nikkie……

Hello!

I began Sensory Atelier to offer unique, meaningful sensory experiences for children spaces where curiosity, creativity, and connection could truly flourish. Over the past three years, I’ve had the privilege of providing sensory play experiences to many families within our community.

Alongside Sensory Atelier, I also founded Nature’s Atelier Colombo in Sri Lanka a nature playhouse where children engage in native play and eco-based learning experiences. This work has deeply influenced my approach, reinforcing the importance of nature, sustainability, and culturally grounded play in early childhood development.

As Sensory Atelier grew, so did my vision. I felt called to evolve beyond sensory play alone and create a learning experience that supports children as whole beings emotionally, socially, and developmentally.

With my background across multiple learning theories and approaches, I recognised how rare it is to find a program that truly supports the whole child. This inspired the creation of our Holistic Learning Program, designed using a whole-child approach inspired by Wholebeing Education, Montessori principles, the Early Years Learning Framework, and quality education standards.

I am a qualified Early Childhood Teacher and a Montessori-trained educator, with over 15 years of experience in the early childhood industry. Everything I have created over the past three years through Sensory Atelier both locally and internationally has led to this next chapter.

This program is my way of giving back to the community. It is something I will personally facilitate and share with families, having been created with deep intention, care, and love. Most importantly, it is a learning experience you truly won’t find anywhere else.

Children, creativity, and connection are my greatest passions, and I am incredibly grateful to finally bring this vision to life.

Thank you for considering Sensory Atelier.
I can’t wait to welcome you and your little one into our community 🤍

✺ Frequently asked questions

  • Our program runs on a term-based enrolment. We do not offer casual attendance, as consistency supports children to feel safe, build secure relationships, and develop a strong sense of belonging within the group.

  • We understand that settling can take time and looks different for every child. If additional support is needed, we may invite you to arrive 15 minutes earlier to gently settle your child before the session begins.

To support all children, we kindly ask families to respect the session start time. Once the program begins, additional adults in the space can feel overwhelming for some children. Our educators use thoughtful strategies to support children during separation, and we will always be in touch with you if needed.

  • Your child’s emotional wellbeing is always our priority. We will respond gently and respectfully to each child’s needs. If your child is finding the session particularly challenging, we will communicate with you and work together to decide the best approach.

  • Missed sessions are not refundable, as resources, staffing, and planning are prepared based on enrolment numbers.
However, we understand that life happens. In certain circumstances, a credit may be applied toward a future term, at our discretion.

  • You are not required to enrol for the full year. However, we strongly believe that enrolling across multiple terms offers wonderful benefits for your child.
    Ongoing participation allows children to:

    • Build deeper confidence

    • Strengthen friendships

    • Feel a strong sense of belonging

    • Grow alongside a familiar and trusted community

Many families choose to continue across all four terms to support continuity and emotional security, but the choice is entirely yours.

  • Our holistic learning program is thoughtfully designed to nurture and uplift the whole child — emotionally, socially, physically, and cognitively.

We took time and great care to create this curriculum. It is not based on worksheets, rote learning, or simply tracing letters and numbers. Instead, the program is grounded in child development research, ensuring each experience supports your child at the stage they are in.

    Our approach combines:

    • Intentional, guided learning

    • Hands-on, experiential play

    • Sensory-rich experiences

    • Emotional wellbeing and connection

Every element of the program is designed to support your child’s unique growth, confidence, and curiosity.

At Sensory Atelier, quality and connection have always been at the heart of what we do. This program is the next evolution of our work — a carefully curated learning experience that brings together our love for sensory play with a deeper, more intentional educational framework.

This is not just another early learning program.
It is a space where children feel seen, supported, and inspired to grow.
